Welcome to Berwick Archers
Berwick
Archers meet on Mondays at Longridge Towers School sports
hall, usually 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Our members come from the
local area in north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.
We
are a friendly club open to people of all abilities with members
aged from 10 to 90! Archery is one of the few sports which
people from a very wide spectrum can enjoy together and our
membership includes people with physical disabilities and
learning disabilities.
We
are a target archery club and indoors we usually shoot at
20yards using 60cm targets. Outdoors, in the summer we shoot
at full size targets at varying distances according to members'
preferences. We have a regular programme of club competitions,
coaching nights, etc, to suit those who shoot just for the
fun of it and those who want to progress in the sport.
New members are always
welcome, whether experienced archers or beginners.
Just go to our Contact page to get
in touch.
BEGINNERS COURSE
Our next beginners course is planned
for late April or early May. See

Our club is affiliated
to the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS),
which is the national governing body for the sport of archery
in the UK. At regional level we are affiliated the Northern
Counties Archery Society (NCAS)
and the Durham & Northumberland Archery Association (DNAA).
All club members are also members of these national and regional
organisations.
Coaching evening. Members enjoyed a very
useful coaching evening on March 2nd. Walter Huddleston from
Kirknewton Archers, who is currently working for his level
2 coaching qualification, worked with us to iron out some
of the bugs in our techniques. His advice helped us to obtain
better and more consistent groups and we'll trying to polish
our shooting techniques in the coming weeks
Next Coaching Evening. Walter will be joining us
again on the first Monday in April to help us improve further.
Beginners
courses. We held a very succcessful
beginners course on 24/25th January and already have some
names down for our next course. See our Beginners
